RIM
Elitewheels is a big proponent of marginal gains and knows that many small improvements can add up. The Velo Six II features a 21mm internal rim width improving rolling resistance when compatible with wider tires, which have the added benefit of improved comfort on less than optimal road surfaces as well as increasing grip in wet conditions.
To push performance even further, the rim’s cross-sectional profile has been newly redesigned to significantly boost lateral stiffness. Advanced carbon fiber layering techniques enhance rigidity without adding weight, even with a larger cross-section. In addition, the use of complex surface curvatures and refined contouring dramatically improves overall stiffness. The Velo Six II now delivers greater impact resistance, making it not only faster but tougher than ever.
The Velo Six II features Glossy Raw Finish which is created by putting a clearcoat over the rim without additional finish. This allows for you to see the actual UD carbon layup. Any small imperfections that are covered up by traditional Matte, Glossy, 3K, or 12k finish, are made visible. These cosmetic imperfections exist on all carbon wheels regardless of the finish and have no impact on performance or durability.

PERFORMANCE HUB
Elitewheels designs and manufactures its own hubs. The front and rear hubs are made of 7075 aluminum which is known for it’s high strength.
Through advanced CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) analysis, the unique structural characteristics of the rim were identified. This led to a comprehensive hub redesign to better align with the system’s load distribution.
The hub features a 50T ratchet system with a 7.2°engagement angle for quicker response. Unlike traditional flat ratchets, the specially angled tooth surfaces allow automatic alignment, increasing engagement area and improving both stability and reliability. Additionally, the tapered design reduces stress on the ratchet’s tooth surface, minimizing wear and extending the hub’s service life.

SPOKES
What separates this wheelset from the pack is the shape of the spokes. While there are other one-piece road wheels available, not all of the spokes are designed with aerodynamics in mind. Our engineers have optimized the wheelset to minimize the coefficient of drag through by reducing the spokes’ frontal area and mimicking the ideal teardrop shape.
The connection between the spokes and the rim has also been refined, ensuring a smoother structural transition. These mechanical improvements result in more efficient and seamless power transfer across the wheelset.
